At the heart of Bath’s independent spirit lies a place where history, community, and creativity converge, Green Park Station. From its Victorian origins to its vibrant present, this iconic space is more than just a market or event venue, it’s a living, breathing part of the city’s story.
A Storied Past
Originally opened in 1870 as Bath Queen Square Station, Green Park Station was a vital transport link connecting Bath to the North of England. Renamed Bath Green Park in 1951, it served passengers until its closure in 1966. The station’s elegant architecture, including its iconic vaulted glass roof, remains a striking reminder of its rich heritage.
After years of dereliction, the site was lovingly restored in the 1980s. Today, we at Ethical Property are proud custodians of this thriving space, home to local businesses, community events, and social enterprises that reflect the values and vibrancy of modern Bath.
A Destination for Discovery
Whether you're browsing for vintage vinyl, indulging in artisan street food, or shopping for organic produce, Green Park Station offers something for everyone.
We’re proud to host the UK’s first Farmers’ Market, every Saturday from 9am to 1:30pm. Here, local producers showcase everything from freshly baked bread and locally grown fruit to a wonderful range of daily staples and indulgent treats.
The station is also home to Green Park Brasserie, one of Bath’s longest-standing independent restaurants. Set in the former booking hall, it offers delicious food and live jazz in a truly atmospheric setting.
A Unique Space for Events
Green Park Station isn’t just a place to shop and eat, it’s a venue for impactful experiences. From festivals and live music to community workshops and impact driven events, our Market Square and Foyer are available for hire.
These unique spaces, housed within a stunning listed building and sheltered by the original glass roof, are ideal for all-weather events. With weekend footfall reaching up to 12,000 people, it’s a perfect platform for those looking to engage with the community in meaningful ways.
Looking Ahead: The Vaults
We’re not resting on our laurels. Big plans are underway for the Vaults at Green Park Station, a series of exciting spaces ready and waiting for ethical businesses, creatives, and changemakers to bring them to life.
Keep an eye out for announcements on how you can tender for space in the Vaults and become part of a growing movement to make a positive impact in Bath. Whether you're a social enterprise, a local maker, or an event organiser, we want to hear from you.
Why It Matters
Markets, music, makers, and mission-driven businesses, all under one roof. Green Park Station is a shining example of how heritage spaces can be reimagined to serve modern communities. It’s where Bath’s past meets its future, and we’re proud to be part of what makes this city so unique.
