Vibrance, one of Ethical Property’s The Green House tenants, is a fantastic charity providing services to adults with disabilities across London and South East. The charity supports over 500 people, helping them to realise their best life and ambitions, through residential, short breaks, respite care, outreach and day services.

In March 2020, we were proud to welcome Vibrance to The Green House where this tenant’s flexible working from home policy sees 30 employees, from their 600 strong team, use the 24 desk spaces that they rent from Ethical Property.

Paul Allen, Chief Executive at Vibrance shares the company’s journey on finding their new workspace at Ethical Property’s, The Green House in East London:

A change of office was always on the cards for Vibrance, however this move turned out to be sooner than expected when the landlords of our office based in Redbridge gained planning permission to convert the building into apartments. We had expected to have this rented office space until December 2021 but with the building turning into a construction site within two days, we had to relocate and quickly.

It turned out that this unexpected turn of events fortunately led us to our new and improved serviced offices at The Green House in Bethnal Green, where we haven’t looked back. With a no eviction clause and a short notice period for the tenant, it was a relief to hear about the flexible and advantageous contracts available. As soon as I walked in to view the office spaces available, I was hit with the WOW factor as the space is stunning with an abundance of natural light which is complemented by a professional yet welcoming feel upon arrival.

As a large organisation, we have been on an important drive to improve our green credentials and being a part of The Green House’s award-wining eco workspace has been a huge step in the right direction. It was a great benefit to know that the office achieved BREEAM ‘excellent’-grade with the building taking a carbon approach to design which significantly reduces both embodied and operational carbon. The living roof garden is also the perfect spot for informal meetings and again, contributes towards improving the environment. In addition, due to the office’s convenient location and fantastic commuter links, with both Cambridge East and Bethnal Green being just a short walk away, many of our employees have now opted to use public transport, helping to reduce our combined carbon footprint.

These environmental values along with Ethical Property’s ethos of supporting impactful, change making businesses, instantly comes across when visiting The Green House. As a charity, working alongside other companies who understand our business model is a true benefit of being under the same roof as like-minded changemakers. All of our neighbouring businesses are charities and being able to share experiences, knowledge and advice offers great opportunities.

Renting a serviced office was also high on our wish list and the Ethical Property team have been brilliant with configuring IT set up, organising meeting space and maintaining the high standards of the office to ensure we enjoy spending time in the workplace. Our office move could not have been any easier with everything ready and waiting for us to get settled, which was especially important after our pressing upheaval from our previous office.

Being home to such vibrant areas, we knew that East London was the best location for our requirements. Bethnal Green, where The Green House is located, is such an interesting area and caters for everyone, whether your preference is enjoying lunch at a greasy spoon, heading to a pop-up pub for a drink after work or taking clients to an up-market coffee shop. Alternatively, there are great breakout areas and a sun terrace available at The Green House to host guests. The variety of eateries, parks and transport links right on the doorstep was a winning factor in our decision of making this our workplace of choice.

The location, combined with the sense of pride we all have for working within such a professional, creative and inviting workspace cannot be beaten and we love hearing great feedback from partners and peers when hosting our various business meetings at The Green House. It mirrors exactly how we feel, calling this workspace our home from home.
