Today we announce that our Managing Director, Conrad Peberdy has decided to step down from his role at The Ethical Property Company (EPC) later this year.

Conrad has been at the company for over 16 years, becoming Managing Director in 2019, in this time he has led on many initiatives that have improved the working lives of a diverse group of changemakers across the UK. His journey with us started as a tenant in Brunswick Court in Bristol before joining Ethical Property as Director of Development in 2009.

Speaking of the announcement, Conrad said:

“It has been an incredible 16 years, I have been honoured to work with so many inspirational people and organisations working to achieve impact. Whilst I am sad to leave such an incredible company, I feel the timing is right for me to move on and to hand over the reins. I look forward to watching the company continuing to provide inspirational and collaborative workspaces for some of the UKs most impactful and innovative organisations.

Mark Hannam, Chair of The Ethical Property Company added:

Conrad has made a lasting positive impact at EPC through his work as Managing Director. He is passionate about his work, committed to the values of the company, and in recent years has led EPC through several major challenges, including pandemic and the recent period of high interest rates, both of which have had a significant impact on our tenants and our financial position. The Board is greatly appreciative of Conrad’s contribution, and we send him our sincere good wishes for the future.”

The Board has asked Jonathan Davies, who is currently Deputy Managing Director, to take on the role of Interim Managing Director and to establish an Interim Leadership team for EPC during the next few months. During this period, the company will continue to pursue its plan to dispose of assets and repay debt, as set out at our last AGM. We expect to start a recruitment process to find a permanent replacement for Conrad towards the end of this calendar year.”
