This month our focus is on Edinburgh and Thorn House. This wonderful Victorian building was once part of the iconic Jenners portfolio and is now home to some of the city's most impactful organisations. We asked Jo who looks after Thorn House, just why this centre is so special.

What for you sums up Thorn House?

Great building full of great people doing great things.

What organisations call Thorn House home?

Thorn House is home to so many great groups from environmental charities and social justice campaigners through to business and educational organisations. Though their work may be different, they are surrounded and supported by likeminded people with similar aims - to make change in Scotland and beyond.

It’s been a tough year, what has it been like for you at Thorn House?

Due to the restrictions in Scotland some tenants have been working from home throughout but we have been a safe place to work for those who are unable to work from home for various reasons.

What makes Edinburgh unique?

It’s an incredible city with hills, beaches and culture all on the doorstep.  It’s also the only city in the world to have a dog (Greyfriars Bobby) on the list of citizens given the Freedom of the City.

What would surprise people about Edinburgh?

Edinburgh has a volcano!
