The Green House is a fantastic new Centre in Bethnal Green, owned and managed by The Ethical Property Company, and designed to provide office, meeting and shared space for social businesses, charities and not-for-profit organisations in London.
With twice as much space (almost 50,000ft²) as the building it replaces (Development House, in Old Street), it will enable us to better meet the rising demand from social change tenants who need flexible and affordable workspace in the capital. The new building will also significantly improve our environmental performance, while simultaneously lowering the operating costs for ourselves and our tenants.
The new building is being designed by architects Waugh Thistleton, leading sustainable building designers who specialise in engineered timber construction. This will significantly reduce the carbon footprint compared to traditional forms of construction.
Conrad Peberdy, Director of Development at The Ethical Property Company said, “These are significant transactions for The Ethical Property Company which will enable us to upscale our activities in order to meet growing demand from potential tenants. This is vital at a time when property in the capital is increasingly out of reach of voluntary and community organisations due to rising rents and loss of office space."
