Since 2013, The Ethical Property Company’s property portfolio has grown significantly, taking on three new projects – two in Cardiff (Hastings House and Cardiff Quakers Meeting House) and one in Bristol (St Pauls Learning Centre). In 2017, we continue to make good progress to acquire further space across the United Kingdom.
Our aim over the next four years is to double the amount of workspace we provide. We have been working on plans to secure new management contracts, recycle existing buildings where we feel there is the potential to increase our social, environmental and financial returns by doing so and identifying new investment opportunities that can increase our impact.
In mid 2016 we completed the sale of our largest Centre (Development House in Old Street, London), and purchased a new 50,000ft² site - The Green House - in Bethnal Green. The building is currently undergoing redevelopment and will open in late 2017 as the new home for existing Development House tenants, in addition to the new tenants who will fill the additional space. This increased space will enable us to better meet the needs of the growing number of organisations who are seeking to move into our Centres in London.
As well as expanding our workspace in London, we are also in the process of developing further projects in Bristol, Cardiff and the North West of England in order to respond to demand, to create more robust management teams and achieve greater economies of scale.
