Communications Officer - Stakeholder Democracy Network

Salary for the role is £12,000 to £15,000 for working 3 days per week (£20,000 to £25,000 full time equivalent).

The Role

Stakeholder Democracy Network is an international non-governmental organization that helps facilitate community development from a rights-based perspective. SDN operates in the Niger Delta where it supports the communities most adversely impacted by oil exploitation and the challenges of resource curse.
SDN has five pillar issues that represent significant long held grievances and acute problems that we are trying to resolve. These are: Access to Energy, Democratisation, Environment, Resilient Communities, and Resource Governance.

Location: London

Reporting To: Programmes Director

Hours: 3 days per week

Job Purpose: The purpose of the role is to develop and manage SDN’s communications activities to maximise the influence of its work. The role has three key objectives:

1. To develop and manage SDN’s communications systems and processes.

2. To directly support the communications elements of SDN projects (e.g. events, publications and campaigns).

3. To build a strong external presence and awareness of SDN and its work.

Learning, Knowledge and Communications Executive - The Canon Collins Trust

The Role

The Canon Collins Trust is a London-based charity investing in higher education and human rights in southern Africa. Our mission is to build a network of effective, active leaders and organisations across the region who use knowledge and activism to build a more open and just society. To do this, they fund higher education scholarships for those who are committed to social change, and we support organisations using the law to protect the rights of some of South Africa’s most vulnerable and marginalized people.

They are looking to appoint a Learning, Knowledge and Communications Executive as soon as possible. The successful candidate will be responsible for generating learning and knowledge within the Trust and communicating such information externally in order to develop the Trust’s profile.  S/he will also be a key point of contact with donors and supporters of the Trust.  Please read the job description for further details.
