Ethical Property sees steady growth through the national financial crisis

The Ethical Property Company saw an increase in both profits and turnover of 22% in 2007/08, despite the financially difficult period.   Our IT and Property Management work is increasing as social change organisations in the UK discover the new services we’re offering to groups in the sector, and the opening of our new Oxford Centre The Old Music Hall, saw an increase in our tenant numbers of 19%.

The development of our new Brussels Centre, Mundo-b, run by our sister organisation, Ethical Property Europe, has been an exciting venture across the channel that also yielded £50,000 profit on the year. The new centre signals our entry into mainland Europe, and our new sister company Ethical Property Europe will be working closely with the UK company to ensure the successful opening of the new centre this April. We plan a Euro share issue in May and aim to open further centres on the continent in the coming years.

As we enter 2009, the UK economy is struggling, and the property industry has been hit hard. However, many social businesses and banks are still growing.  Ethical Property’s healthy position despite the economic climate may yet prove that ethically run and socially conscious businesses can still do well even in a recession.
