Epicentres of change:  strong performance in 2009

The Ethical Property Company was ten years old last year.  We have come a long way since we undertook our first share issue in May 1999.  It's been an exciting ten years, characterised by strong and steady growth, and this last year has been our most successful yet.

In 2008-09 we saw the expansion of our network to 17 centres, and these epicentres eminate waves of social change throughout the UK and continental Europe.

This year we took on the lease of Green Park Station in Bath and we purchased and refurbished Brighton Junction, our centre bringing together some of the key voluntary sector support agencies in Brighton.  Our vacancy rate remains consistently low, with an overal void rate of 98.5% all year - testiment to the quality and flexibility of our management model.

We opened Mundo-B in Brussels, with our sister company, Ethical Property Europe; and successfully raised €2.7 million from Belgian investors, firmly establishing Ethical Property Europe in the Euro-zone.

We also launched our network of Hives, a monthly membership package offering users all the benefits of our centres for as little as a few hours a month and partnering with La Ruche in Paris; our Hive in Mundo-b, Brussels; and The Melting Pot in Edinburgh has meant our roaming members can access ethical office services in four countries.
