The company is very much committed to the longer term objective of developing an ethical exchange in order to increase opportunities for investment in ethical equity. Progress has been slow, but recently things have been gathering pace.
Our shares are now traded by Brewin Dolphin, who also provide a trading service for the largest ethical bond and share companies Café Direct, Traidcraft, Triodos Renewable Energy Fund and Golden Lane Housing.
Recently Cabinet Office Minister Ed Miliband called a meeting of interested parties to discuss the notion and a wide range of views were expressed, with some strongly in support of the idea and others feeling that either it is a distraction or adds nothing to the existing markets such as AIM and Plus (previously Ofex).
There are currently two main initiatives in the area, the first is for a lead by Mark Campanale who has worked in the field of ethical investment for many years and the second by Rod Schwartz who is currently a non executive director of The Ethical Property Company.
