Ethical Property Nederland is run by joint Managing Directors, Nick Paterson and Jamie Hartzell.
Nick is a property professional and sustainability specialist who has lived in the Netherlands for the last 10 years. He has 12 years’ experience in the property industry, having trained in the UK. Previously, he worked for over 6 years as property asset manager for an Amsterdam-based fund and asset management company, responsible for property portfolios in the Benelux and Germany; as sustainability manager at a property investment management company active in the Benelux and France; and for a Dutch-based consultancy, active in the areas of sustainable real estate, climate & energy and Corporate Social Responsibility.
Jamie co-founded the Ethical Property Company in 1998 and was its Managing Director until the end of 2010. During this time the Ethical Property Company set up 15 centres across the UK and two in Belgium, as well as establishing both Ethical Property Europe and the Ethical Property Foundation. He helped raised over €20 million in ethical share capital during five share issues in the UK and Belgium and remains a director of the Ethical Property Company UK and Ethical Property Europe, Chair of étic in France and founder of Ethex, a new initiative to stimulate investment in ethical businesses.
Ethical Property Nederland currently has a supervisory board acting in an advisory capacity. Jan Willem Nieuwenhuys is Director of ASN sustainable asset management, sits on the board of several charities and foundations including Human Rights Watch and Haella Stichting and was previously Chair of the Board of Stichting Beheer Oikocredit Nederland Fonds. Pierre Hupperts is a sustainable business consultant, partner of CSR consultancy The Terrace, coordinator and professor of the Corporate Social Responsiblity post doctorate at the University of Nijmegen and has previously worked for Oxfam Holland and the Body Shop Benelux. A property professional is currently being chosen.
