Rod was first appointed as a non-executive director of the company in March 2007. He is the Founder and Chief Executive of Catalyst Fund Management and Research Ltd: a venture capital firm founded in 1997 and co-founder in 2007 of Catalyst Strategy Advisors. Catalyst and its affiliates are focused on the social, ethical and environmental business sector.
Until August 2006, Rod was Chair of Shelter, the housing and homelessness charity, and he is also involved with a number of businesses and organisations in the social sector as a non-executive director or advisor; these include Passion Organic, the UK Social Investment Forum, The Green Thing, Belu Spring Water, AXA Investment Managers and, until recently, Justgiving.com. In previous years he worked at a senior management level in a number of major investment institutions such as UBS, Lehman Brothers and Paribas.

His extensive experience as an analyst, strategic consultant, corporate advisor, venture capitalist and entrepreneur brings a valuable new dimension to the Ethical Property Company’s Board.
