Scotia Works

Refurbishment of Scotia Works, an old cutlery works close to the railway station, was finally completed at the beginning of August 2003. The main focus of the centre is to extend learning, development and citizenship in socially excluded communities.

The building lies on a brownfield site and was bought from Sheffield City Council. Grants from the European Regeneration Fund and the Townscape Heritage Initiative aided the refurbishment, which was completed to a high environmental standard and includes a number of innovative features such as building-height 'light boxes'.
