Ethical Property Foundation
The Ethical Property Foundation was founded in 2004 with the vision that buildings should be managed for the benefit of people and planet and the mission to support non-profits with expert property advice. To date the Foundation has advised 3500 clients on a pro-bono and consultancy basis and in February 2015 became the sole referral partner to the Charity Commission for land and property advice. In partnership with the Commission, the Foundation also runs the authoritative bi-annual Charity Property Matters Survey, the only UK property survey centred on the property needs and challenges of the voluntary sector which employs 820,000, owns £22bn of operating premises, with rent the 2nd biggest item of an annual sector spend of £40bn. In 2015 the Foundation launched its new ethical workplace accreditation The Fairplace Award, in order to promote its founding vision to the property industry. Major names have now achieved the Award, including Sodexo, RBS and EMCOR UK.
