The Green House wins Architects Journal Award
We are delighted that our centre in Bethnal Green, The Green House, has won the Architects Journal Retrofit Award for Offices 5000m² and over. The project which is part refurbishment and part mass CLT extension is home already to many major social change organisations including Extinction Rebellion and social impact companies such as Beryl Bikes.
The design by architects Waugh Thistleton took our vision of a sustainable work place that offered natural light and stunning communal spaces to the reality of the wonderful building we now have today.
“This is recognition that unloved derelict buildings can be changed into vibrant spaces using sustainable building techniques. It’s wonderful that such an exciting building is already attracting so many tenants that are making a real difference to the world” — Conrad Peberdy, Managing Director of Ethical Property
The Green House has 4483m² of office space as well as meeting rooms and communal spaces including a living roof and roof terrace.
